So, I'm about to get an FZR600... A few questions!

So, first off, I know this seems like a very novice question, but is there a certain RPM at which you're supposed to upshift gears? I usually play it by ear, or feel it out a bit (I'm still relatively new to motorcycles; only about 6 months, but it was on a Blast 500 that I sold), but it there a stricter way to do it?
Secondly, is there a place online where I can buy fairings and such for it? Mine is half faired but I'm looking to get full; I can't seem to find one and there's only one major place around here that does motorcycle work, and they're notorious for jacking prices up.
Thirdly, Hi!
Fourth: what's the best kind of helmet visor for all-around driving? I know some are tinted, some are UV filtering, etc etc, but what's the best kind for riding during the day and at night?
That's all I can think of for now though. Thanks in advance for any help; this seems like a great resource for motorcyclists

No. You can feel when the bike is lugging, or when you need some more juice, so shift higher. Some will tell you about different ways to treat your bike during break-in periods, but you didn't ask about that.

Someone at

All around? Clear. But check this out:
It's got in integrated sun-visor. Not a lot of feedback on this forum about it yet. Caberg and Givi make them, not sure where you can get them. Givi not in the US, but I think Caberg can. There might be another that does it too.
Later!

The best helmet is one you can change the face shield on. AND that fits. Check out the helmet fit guide in the stickies.

You can get a Scorpion helmet like that as well. I'm a couple of paycheques away from getting one though. Haha.

Great information; thanks guys!
Maybe I should create a new thread on this, I'm not sure, but I was also wondering: how do I know what size wheels I should buy? The FZR600 I bought has a slow leak in the back wheel; I was looking here:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/ ... -Tire.aspx and it gives you alot of different options with alot of different prices...

About a year and a half ago I had a YX600 Radian, the Fazer's sister bike. You'll enjoy the excellent performance of the bike.

The Fazer and the FZR (fizzer) are different bikes.
Having been on both a Radian and an FZR, the Rad is certainly better.

Ah, I was reading wrong. I would have kept the Rad, but after getting nailed with unexpected med bills from a MC accident, I had to file bankruptcy. I miss the bike but still see it around town.
