New rider in northern cali!

Hey all, iam getting my first bike this week ( a 1985 yamaha maxim XJ 700 ) and iam excited as heck!! any riders in my region wanna go kick it and teach me the ropes? none of my local friends have bikes so im all alone out here! i need to make some riding friends! just wanted to say hello to all and to many years of safe and exciting riding to come!

Welcome to TMW.
If you are a new rider, please go read the stickies in the Beginner Bikers forum. There is lots of good info for newbies.
Might we suggest you look for a MSF course nearby instead of letting friends teach you? You sure dont want to pick up on anyone's bad habits....

I am also new to this Forum and am here to make friends with Bikers form all over the World. After all we are of the same Breed - Bikers.
