there seems to be like a unity between all the bikers around here no madder what type of bike they ride they seem very nice and almost brotherly or sisterly (if those are words) to all the other bikers. Is it like everywhere? or is it possible im just seeing something thats not there?

One of the reasons I like TMW so much is that there is very little 'if you don't ride what I ride, you suck' here. Not like most websites, where you better have what everyone else has or they jump on you like sharks on a wounded seal.

A little good natured teasing and joking aside, we tend to be more into bikes than brands here. Just be careful about joking about Harleys.... I think they viberate the humor gene out of most owners....

I know a lot of people who'd blow you off for not riding the same kind of bike. The biggest issues seem to be Sport bikes vs. Cruisers, and then basically Everyone Else vs. Harley-Davidson.

But, as you said, we don't really care about that much here, even if a lot of other places do. Some sites are bike-specific, and then you get the jerk offs who say 'That's because this bike is the best'. Eh. Whatever.

And always remember...

It's Total Motorcycle World, not Total Harley World, or Total Sportbike World.

EXACTLY!! Total Motorcycle World, i just wish it was like that on the streets around here too. I get disrespected all the time because i ride a "crotch rocket," it sucks.

sounds like im in the right place then bike is a bike to me.

but of course me personaly I'm in love with sports bikes

I'm in love with torque, mostly.

I'll probably end up buying a sport bike, for those days I want to go out and 'zip around', but as I drive my bike constantly, for hours at a time, I also want something that's comfortable for a guy my height.

It's all about application, really.

Every once in a while, you will even see some souped up Vespa on the site too. Now that is acceptance!

As opposed to a lot of other forums, I think most of us here at TMW realize that each and every bike has the potential to put a big grin on someone's face. To get that realization, it helps if you've had the opportunity to spend some time riding different models and styles of bikes, but the fact is, pure and simple, we love to ride. And, when we're not actually on a bike, we enjoy gabbing about 'em here.
Most of us here agree that if someone diss'es your bike, well... they're just ignorant and uninformed!

I gotta tell ya, some of the best rides have been with strangers on different types of bikes. Last summer while out in B.C. , with our ninja 1000 and interceptor 1000 we stayed at the toadrock motorcycle campground. It took one day and we met many bikers and off we all went on rides all week. The bikes ranged from ours above to a BMW cruiser & a on/off road, a couple Harleys (one was a really old & cool knuckle), a Goldwing, 3 metric cuisers, and a very cool home made custom chopper. What a mix of bikes and people we had. The best ride we had was north of Nelson B.C. which took us to an old abandoned Marble mine (Very Cool). We all stopped for lunch and headed back. On the way back a black bear decide to cross the road, (brian if your reading this P.M. me). Brian was in the lead on his Harley and had the best view of the bear. Ironically the guy riding the custom chop was called bear (the tattoo said so), and he looked like one lol. After we got back it was BBQ and beers and shootin the #$&* till the wee hours in the morning, and when we woke up, some of us headed out again on a different route(those not hung over). I gotta tell you all, it's not really what you ride it's the person riding it that's either friendly or not. Some of the riders we met out there wouldn't give you the time of day yet others would give you the shirt off of there backs.
Those who are stuck up didn't know what to make of our group, Who do I wave too is probably what they thought and in the end they didn't at all....well those people can stay away from me cuz I don't care what you ride or what you look like, we are all human riding what we want.

My 2 cents. Anyway if you see me out there, get in formation and we'll ride.
