I guess I should have used better judgement because the mod I made wasn't worth me not being able to ride for the past month! Worse yet, winter is coming and I'm frantically trying to get on my bike at least one last time before the snow sets in.
Long story short, I purchased a set of LED lights from Ebay to mount over my engine. In order to run the wiring, I removed my tank to better set up the lights. When I put everything back together and got ready to take her out, she would crank but no fire.
I've looked at all of the connections (at least 10 times) to see if I'm missing anything but everything looks to be connected that should be. This includes the wire harness to the connection on the tank. I've even checked all of the fuses.
Thinking I wasn't getting any spark, I pulled the plugs and tested them but they were fine. To verify that it was a fuel issue, I sprayed engine start in my air cleaner cranked the engine and it came alive for a second or two. the manual says to check the carb for fuel by removing a screw. When I removed the screw there was no fuel.
Does anyone know why I'm not getting fuel to my cylinders?
Volusia wont start what am I missing?

What is your petcock set too?
Is the petock vacuum operated? Did you hook up the vacuum line if so?
Is the fuel line hooked up to the carbs?

9 times out of 10 this problem (tank removal, followed by no fuel flow) turns out to be the vacuum line to the petcock. If there's no vacuum flow to the petcock, there will be no fuel flow to the carbs*.
*This assumes, of course, that you have a vacuum operated petcock. Sometimes a little info like make/model/year of the bike is helpful in troubleshooting.

What these folks mean by the vacuum line is, On your petcock, are there two places where lines attach? One for the gasoline, and the other is for a vacuum line to the carb(s)? Lots of times that vacuum line pops off when you pull the tank off and you may not have noticed it (I did that lots).
Also, and I hate to say it....but make sure your tank has enough fuel in it. What you hear sloshing around in there may not be enough for even the reserve, even though it weighs a lot. I had a Volusia Intruder, and that happened to me. The fuel I heard and felt in the tank just wasn't enough in there for the bike to run, even on reserve.
Not trying to talk down or anything, just remembering having been where you are now...

Also check your filter. Some tanks have a filter inside also. (not sure about Suzuki) This is usually a screen that requires removal of the petcock to access. I have also seen petcocks plug up. (I had one that worked fine ON but no RES) But first check gas level and vac. before tearing this apart.
