New on Board from NC rider/painter

#1 Unread post by bmiller »

Hi all, discovered this board doing research for a client. I'm 31 been riding since age 15, and own a custom paint shop in Durham NC. Goes without saying that sometimes a passion can turn into a hobby, and then into a paycheck. I love riding, and making them look better than they were before I got'em. I have a 05 Triumph Daytona 650, and a 2000 Freightliner that gets about 4 mpg, so I ride the bike everyday regardless of weather. Hope I can be of help if anybody has questions about paint work regarding their scoots.

bmiller,

Welcome.

I am in Goldsboro,NC as we speak. Just came back from J&E's in Winterville and almost bought a bike from Ray Price back in September. I use to work construction in the research triangle for a couple years.

Do you do air brush?

Yep, it's a great site....becoming a little addictive!! Yes, I would be curious to know if you do airbrushing, too.

Yes I do some airbrush work. I don't get a chance to do a lot, because it seems most people in my area think because Maaco can paint a car for $450 then a bike should run about $250. Most of my repaints run around $500 for a show finish with some lettering. And thats really cheap for a flawless finish. I have done a few realistic flames in the past, and a marblized tribal pattern on a sport bike. I also have a vinyl cutter that I use to make masks for really detailed designs off of CAD programs(a real time saver) about the only thing I can not do yet is murals. I'll post a few pics.
