Does anyone have a surefire way to keep from scratching a winshield when cleaning it on the road. Seems I am getting some small scratches in mine and I don't have a great way of cleaning it on the road.

I CARRY A SMALL SPRAY BOTTLE WITH A MIX OF VINAGAR AND WATER. I USE A BABY DIAPER, 'CAUSE IT'S 100% COTTON TO WIPE 'ER DOWN. BY THE WAY THE DIAPER MUST BE UNUSED.

The vinegar/water spray is a pretty good idea, but you can just carry a soft cloth (a too worn to wear in public t-shirt, cut in pieces, is GREAT!). My guess is you're using gas station paper towels... BAD. They're just a short step away from tree bark.
For day trips, I put a flannel detailing cloth, dampened with mild dish soap, in a zip lock bag. It works great to get wind hardened bug-guts off the face shield and windscreen.
Just lay it on and wait a bit, then wipe off.

I use a T shirt also, when I stop I just soak it and spread it over the shield, wait a bit and the bug grunge just wipes off, then I hit it with Honda Cleaner Wax Spray, when it gets little scratches I use a palm sander with sheep hid on it and plastic scratch remover, on Honda shield's you have to be careful, they have a thin coat of something that will rub through and leave a spot showing where it rubbed through, I don't know of any other shield that does this.
