I have no New Years resolutions because it never works out.

I do wish everyone a happy and healthy 2008 and that your memories of 2007 were great ones.

Maybe this year I can finally get a girlfriend

The sad thing is I got into an accident on Sunday but I came out fine (bike gear does work, even at 50 mph) too bad the bike needs a new tank.

I guess I can scratch girlfriend off the list since I might have to give up biking for one.

A good GF is attracted to you for you. Your goal should be a GF who also likes bikes. Its pure hell if you like bikes and your sig other does not! The choice, if one has to be made has always been simple for me. In never met a person who, in the long run, was glad he chose his GF over his motorcycle.

So sorry to hear about your accident. WTF happened? Snow, greasy roads? Good thing you didn't have on shorts and f'ing tennis shoes,eh.

Never give up biking for a GF!! It just will not work. My wife does not want one but she likes to ride on the back. That was a prerequisite that she at least liked bikes. For a marriage to work you need to be equally yoked in more ways then just religion, hence the term.

At dinner I had a friend tell me that his GF would dump him if he ever bought a motorcycle which brought up the whole safety discussion thing. His bro chimes in by saying that countries like Singapore use them as main transports and I chime in with my prior accident and how I got away unhurt thanks to the gear.

My accident on Sunday happened while I was getting on an onramp and someone in a Ford SUV wasn't paying attention and sideswiped me. I felt the bike give way and I just hit the ground. The bike needs now a new tank and fork leg, maybe a new handlebar and maybe a new shifter but it operated fine after I mended it back into place. Tough a$$ japanese bikes.

Oddly I have no tears or scratches on any of my clothing and my head never hit the ground. I guess you can chalk one up for American stitching.

New years was interesting. No hangovers FTW! Though I guess I WAS stone sober when I did fall asleep, at 4 AM. We kicked a keg and a half, of home brew. Drove an hour to get there, only took 45 minutes to get back (at 3 am). Weird, huh? Though I guess I did have someone in the car on the way there (not on the way back).

DRAMA like woah, and I was stuck in it for a change. But that's so 2007.

Resolution for 2008, find a girl that ISN'T batshit crazy.

I wore my TourMaster Coaster jacket which didn't get any scuffs, along with my Alpine Stars pants covered by my SWAT cargo pants which surprisingly has no holes, rips or even thread scuffing on them. I think my Timberland Pro boots took the worst of the damage with like a small scrape on the steel toe area.

Sounds like you rolled a lot? Even the toughest stuff should have at least gotten scuffed... Don't get me wrong, we're all glad you're ok!

I slid on my side then my knees but my pants show no markings and neither did my jacket. I still find it odd I came out without even a bruise.

What a way to end 2007. At least I got a good view of Times Square from where I am.
