That law is pretty much the same in any state ("left lane for passing only" at least), but that's the first I've seen the law being upheld. I wish they would pop some drivers here in Ohio for that violation. The traffic jams that are created by people poking around in the passing lane is not only frustrating, but potentially dangerous.
Cheers,

I think we have the same law in Texas as signs on the highway try to remind people, but most of those who drive slow in the left lane cannot read anyway or just do not care about anyone but themselves. I think if we kicked the side of their cars from time to time it might help, but I am not all that brave on two wheels.

People driving slow in the left lane think they can enforce speed limits and they failed to realize that the left lane is for passing.

We get left lane-itis here as well. I think part of it is because people think of it as the fast lane. Other than rush hour, most of the drivers on the 401 hwy are either in the center or left lane. Rather than fighting it I've taken a different tack. I now drive in the right (slow) lane and most of the time it's really the fast lane!

We should be able to place people under "Citizens Arrest" for doing this.

that or it's some stubborn person who refuses to go faster than the cruise control is set at, even if it's 1 MPH faster than the person they're passing.
on my way back from deer hunting, ( a four hour trip) i ran into no less than six slow drivers going 65 or less in the left lane, all were gabbing away on their cell phones. one of them i passed twice after stopping for gas. you'd think they'd get the picture after being repeatedly passed on the right

technically, you should only do the speed limit in the left lane. the speed limit isnt a recommended number. But hell, Im usually 10-15 kms over the limit myself.
