i read magazines from my own country, they always have sections in them broken down to states that advertise meet & greets and rides in your location. Just look for those that fit your style ie. if you have a BMW join the local BMW riders organisation etc etc etc

The net mate, you have just found the perfect way to meet others who ride

You could start at GroupRider.com. But this forum and many others will have details about people to meet to ride with.

I've met so many other motorcyclists just by riding around! I've probably made like 6 or 7 new friends just by cruising the streets.

cruising the streets looking for " new friends" is illegal over here, they have regulated establishments to cater for those kinds of needs

There is probably a Souther Cruisers chapter near you.

Go hang out at the bike store for a few hours and I am sure you will meet a handful of riders. Then just ask to ride along. I don't know what kind of bike you ride but you will find alot of clubs out there as well.

What kind of bike do you own? Some manufacturers have enthusiasts clubs listed on their web sites. Or find a bike-specific discussion board where members will post dates and times for group rides in your area. There are currently at least 4 forums I know of just for the new Ninja 250 I own. I have yet to find a bike model that doesn't have an forum where the owners get together for chat and information swapping.
