Am I talking to an idiot?

#1 Unread post by Joelseph »

Ive been trying to contact some suppliers for some frame sliders. I talked to someone working at www.blackfootdirect.com and asked him about some for my Kawasaki Ninja 650R. He pointed me in the direction of www.partscanada.ca and showed me where in the catalogue I could find them. I thanked him, but just before I left, I noticed my 650R was not on the list. I asked him, and sounded puzzled. He asked if there were any other names for my bike, and I told him in europe it is known as the ER-6F, but I don't think anything else.

He then told me he'd look into it, and get back to me. Fine, whatever, I can deal with that. He contacted me later that day, and said in fact that the ZX-6R listed in the catalogue was my bike. ZX means "ninja", and thats the same as mine. I was stunned. Does this guy actually think that kawasaki's superbike is the same as my intermediate 650R? I assured him it wasn't, and pointed out the difference. He said he would look into it again.

He then contacted me most recently and said "frame sliders are not made for your bike because they are not supposed to be riden like the ZX's."

Again, I was stunned. Excuse me, but what the "fudge" is this guy talking about? Aren't frame sliders mostly for low speed/standstill dumps? I didn't think how you "rode" a bike had anything to do if you could get aftermarket parts for them or not.

Am I talking to a complete moron here, or am I just new.
