It's a hoax.
Change your shorts and go back to life as normal

That's so weird!! Yeah, Internet Movie Data Base doesn't show it, and the "trailer" did mention that the release date was April 1, 2009 - April Fool's joke I suppose! But why torment fans of Zelda?! Oh well...
Cheers,
Loonette

I'm glad it's not real. The trailer looks more hokey than the Super Mario Bros movie.

Google legend of zelda movie and just see how many sites there are about it. Original release date seems to have been missed by 2 years already... Hoax??? Who's to say?

That may be, but the trailer in question was produced by IGN, a video gaming web site, specifically for April Fool's Day.
If there is a movie, this ain't it.

I'm glad that this isn't real, because if it was I would be horribly disappointed in it. I'd rather a Zelda movie be nonexistent than poorly done.

I'm still waiting for Halo movie, and maybe Max Payne. Half LIfe and BioSHock movies wouldn't hurt either.

I must admit I'm not keen on the movie of a game genre, I find story lines designed for interaction rarely transfer over to film well.
That and I'd rather see a film that gained ratings on its own merit rather than trading on the sucesses of something else. Seems a pretty shoddy way to make entertainement really.
Deus Ex is probably the only one in my opinion with the potential to make the transfer. The different technologies, plots, and environment seem quite different to films I've seen before. (Its also my number one game of all time, only game I've completed countless times and still enjoy)
Half-life would be slated as an alien rip off, Max Payne would be acused of Matrix purely for the bullet time, and the like.
