I'm about to buy my first bike; wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion as to which of the two i'm looking at I should buy.
2004 Honda CBR600F4i for $6998 - brand new black and red
2005 Yamaha YZF600R for $5800 - used 1000 miles perfect condition; blue
If anyone has any suggestions as to why to get one and not the other I'm all ears, i've read up a lot about both bikes; I really want the CBR but my bank account is pushing me towards the YZF. Thanks
2004 CBR600F4i or 2005 YZF600R
My suggestion is to take the BRC and get a BEGINNERS bike. So neither of the two you listed. They offer no forgiveness for mistakes. You could fart and wind up pulling a wheelie. I really did it with a sneeze on an R6.
The effort you put into finding prices on those, put into research on a bike that is not going to hurt you for the most minor oops.

I echo what the others have said. The bikes you mentioned are a bit..."high-strung" for a new rider. I've got over 25K miles riding experience, and they're both much faster than any of the four bikes I've owned. If you like sport bikes, Take a look at something like the Kawi Ninja 500, or the Suzuki GS 500 F. Maybe even the Suzuki SV 650 or SV 650 S. (V-Twin and tuned more forgivingly than the fours.)
