DRIVER'S REACTION TIME

#1 Unread post by dr_bar »

Getting old, are we?

Reflexes slowing down?

As I remember, the automobile driving manual says the average driver's reaction time is:

. 75 seconds -or- 1 car length for every 10 mph...

Test your reaction time with this special test.

If I don't get the 3 second penalty, I'm around .200. Did manage to pull off one 0.00

Well, the nice thing is this only measures reaction time to a surprise 'threat'. In the real world we regularly have the luxury of seeing cars, people and animals moving around us in order to anticipate their moves, and at the very least, recognize which objects are the most immediate threat to react to. So you're not really guessing to the extent as we are in this sheep test.

With that, I got the Bobcat score. The above dawned on me this afternoon driving home, and I think about this post. Cars were moving around me and I was glad to able to easily correct rather than spaz to click the mouse

ps; I'm glad there are no loose sheep on our streets
