Newly bit by the bug!

My hubby & I talked about a bike for years & never did anything about it. Last August, on our way to Rapid City, SD from Idaho, we started seeing bikes & bikes & bikes & ... All of a sudden, it dawned on us where we were heading!!!!!!!!! Didn't know that there were that many bikes in the whole wide world, let alone in & around 1 small SD town. Needless to say, we didn't do everything we had planned to do around Rapid City - Sturgis was MUCH more interesting!
We spent 8 weeks in Tulsa, going through Fayetteville, AK on our way home, just in time for Bikes, Blues & BBQ! Biketoberfest was right after we got home! We were meant to ride!
Because of schedules, we weren't able to take the safety course until January (That was a gotta - almost everyone we talked with told us we HAD to take it - we agree!!) Finally settled on a Suzuki Blvd C50 & practiced, practiced, practiced in a vacant shopping center parking lot. (We both laid it down once & needed the other's help to get it up - we're 63 & 70!) We then rode around our neighborhood & each laid it down again -
We decided that we either had to forget riding or get something more stable. Since we had to buy ANOTHER truck (we had traded our small car on a small truck for the 2-wheeler), we decided to go the Voyager route, rather than an actual trike for financial reasons.
We are pleased with the conversion, but have come up empty as far as a method of getting the bike into the back of our new F150! Low clearance (4") is the big problem. One ramp website has a ramp calculator which says that we need a 14" ramp - no one has one that long! And, how would we fit it in the bed? Others have said, "Just find a ditch, back the truck into that & use a short ramp." (Not always a convenient ditch around when you need one!) Others have suggested a trailer - that's not an option, since we pull the truck behind our motorhome! There are several loaders/tilting ramps out there, but we hate to invest another $3,000-5,000 right now! Plus, we CAN’T be the only ones needing to put a rig like that in a truck – some other ingenious rider HAS to have come up with a way to solve the problem!
We’re getting to the point where we have to find a solution – we leave soon for my summer job in VA – hate to rent a U-Haul for the bike & drive both the truck & motorhome!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Will try to find an appropriate forum to post our problem, as well as groveling & asking for assistance from readers of this forum!)
Bikers have got to be the friendliest, most helpful people on earth – we’ve spent untold hours in shops asking questions & had only 1 person act as if putting up with us was a pain!
