I have been rebuilding a 1971 CL450 for a few months now. Just finish rebuilding the engine yesterday and now is time to start think of paint.

I was thinking on a black frame with white side panels and white gas tank with a red racing stripe down the middle.
What do you think? suggestions?

I think that's a pretty good idea of a color scheme. But just be careful if you care what other people think. The speed racer movie is coming out this year and your bike may be Equated to the Mach 5.

I was showing my fiance` a helmet I wanted to get last night and she said "The helmet has a lot of white on it, that's so....Speed Racer" *ugh*

Ha, I didn't think about that. Now that you mention it I like the color scheme better I am a big speed racer fan! used to watch it all the time.

I love the classic Honda gold from the 70's, I was thinking about doing my Nighthawk in that color, although it may make a great idea and a lousy color.

If there's a bike color that you like go to http://www.color-rite.com/ they have LOTS of colors that match just about any brand of bike, boat, PWC on and on.
