it would be my first bike and the guy lives less then 10 miles from me, so i could check it out and everything, I'm just curious to see what you guys say

That might be a good starter bike and so far the price is OK. From the pics I'd say it's been neglected somewhat, at least by my standards, but it looks like it has potential. If I were you I'd go look it over.
