tourmaster gear for women

#1 Unread post by JMack »

Well I have decided on a motorcycle (Honda Rebel), now I just wait until a decently priced used one is for sale in my area. On to gear.
Tourmaster jackets and pants like the Intake Jacket and Venture Air pants can be bought in both men's and women's varieties. Are the women's pants just smaller versions of the men's or are they altered to account for the fact that women have curves? And does the jacket take into account a woman's chest? Thanks.
Finding gear is becoming a pain, the men's section has a ton of variety and the women's has two different pairs of pants and 4 jackets. ugh.

Jmack--
There are some great varieties of ridingn gear available for the ladies now.
I personally have had very poor results with TourMaster. Love the gloves, but the pants were a very poor fit and so hot I couldn't stand them. What they market as "waterproof" is not waterproof at all.

If you don't like what's available locally, it might be worth a trip to somewhere else to try what they have. I like a lot of the Icon brand gear, it is made well and fits pretty good. Just about any jacket made for women is going to offer you "chest room," the pants are a different matter, because they are so hard to fit to different women.

Keep us posted!

Women's gear is generally sized for women's parts. But everything fits a little bit differently and each of our bodies are built differently as well (i.e. I'm very short-waisted but have a long inseam). Best bet is to find a store and try things on. I've been very happy with my Tourmaster Trinity jacket (and I ride in all kinds of weather conditions) and I wear these overpants:

I actually had to buy a men's pair to get them long enough. Be sure when trying on pants to do the "sit test" - straddle a chair or something to imitate your riding position and see if the pants ride up too far. Joe Rocket is another good brand that has a lot of choices for women.

Good luck in your shopping!! :)
