Changing tire on 2007 Shadow Aero

I just brought my new and first bike home tonight. The bike has about 6100 miles on it. From the looks of it most of those have been very up right as there isn't a whole lot of tread left down the center.

How much trouble am I looking at to remove the rear tire, the bike has a drive shaft? I'm fairly handy with a set of tools.

Is this something that I would be better off leaving to a professional and just "paying the man"?

Thanks.

All the things and posts I have read tells me to have a pro do the do...

I was afraid of that.

A chain or a belt I could probably do. That shaft likely has lots of little bits that I don't want to mess up when putting it back together.

The follow question: How much am I looking at for labor?

Shaft is easier then chain or belt.

Basically you remove the axle, swing the brake plate out of the way, pull the wheel to the right side of the bike and the splines will slide apart. Wheel then rolls cleanly out the back.

Grease the splines a little before you reinstall the wheel, and reassemble in reverse order.
