Most of you know I am looking for my first bike still. I came across this ninja 2004 ninja 250 and it has 4k miles on it. The girl that owned it dropped it on its side and has some damage. Is this bike worth buying for 2,000 with the damage? I know that the ninja is a hard bike to come by. Would I have a issue reselling this bike with this damage?

I think that for $2000 you can get a Ninja that hasn't been dropped, if you're patient.

It is close to blue book, though...as long as the damage is just cosmetic and it doesn't bother you, it might not be a bad deal. And yes, it might affect resale, but I wouldn't make that my primary concern, since you might drop it anyway. Or not. Ya just never know...

You might want to resize those pictures as well. I sure don't need a new desktop... lol.

In Charlotte, NC there are no ninjas....i'm going to keep looking unless he will sell it for like 1,200 or 1,500 bucks. My wife works at a body shop so I might be able to get that damaged fixed at a deal.

That doesn't look like very extensive damage. Since the little Ninja is a popular learner bike, quite a few of them on the used market will have similar scrapes.

Overall, $2K for a low mileage 2004 model is not bad (assuming it's in good mechanical shape). You can use the cosmetic issue to perhaps bargain off a bit more.

If Ninjas are particularly rare in your neck of the woods, you might be waiting a long time for a pristine example to come along (and you'll probably pay more for it).

Hey, just to throw in my 2 cents I would buy it. Not sure what its like in your area, but here in NS 250 ninja's are everywhere. You can get a complete plastic set for about $300 if you look around. Actually just bought a replacment motor for my wifes 250 for $500 with only 2000KM on it. So to me, it would be worth it for the cheapness of fixing it. Once again, around here you would prolly get $3000-$3500 for a 2004 easy, a friend of mine sold a 2000 Ninja 250 for $2500 and it went in about 3 days of being posted. Might just be a trend or craze thats happening in this area though. Also, if the only damage is them 2 scuffs, they look like an easy thing to just fix, would need painting afterwards though. Anywhay just my thoughts, may not be the same for your area :)
