Poor, poor, pitiful me

#1 Unread post by ccshamp »

I've got the bike in my possession. I've got all the gear. I've got beautiful weather. I've got some free time.

So why am I not riding this weekend? I still don't have the title so the bike's not registered or insured yet. Not exactly thrilled with the electronic lien situation in Massachusetts. :crybaby:

Ah well, to all you hitting the road this weekend - enjoy!

You're a step ahead of me. I don't even have a bike yet! I feel like it's wasted weather.....so nice, but no fun. One of these days. Just think of all the fun you'll have on the bike once you get it! It will be worth the wait (or at least, that's what I tell myself every day). 8)

If it's any consolation...my bike has been sitting in the shop for a month.

I don't know of nor understand the "electronic lien". How is this keeing you from getting your title?
If you bought the bike from a dealer or an individual, I would think I wouldn't put dollar one down without a title in my hand. :?

To help you feel better.... Cleaned my bike last week for memorial day weekend....Flew to Cincinatti on Wednesday on business. Jackass on the plane had some sickness...probably the flu. Thursday I started getting sick. Saturday and Sunday was real bad...Monday was a slight improvement. I was out for an hour the entire weekend and that was pretty much forced and miserable after 30 minutes.

One wasted beautiful weekend.

electronic lien

It was a toughie for me to get over, too. When I bought the bike, the guy paid off his loan and I got a bill of sale and the bike). Then, the state mailed the clean title to him. It'd be dicey if you were buying a bike off someone you didn't trust.

I got the title on Saturday so tomorrow, I'm off to get the registration and insurance.

And my sympathies to all the bike-in-the-shop, sick, don't-even-own-a-bike- yet folks!

I hope to be riding (parking lot) soon!

Do what I did, sneak it out for blast around the block once a day till you get the title, shady I know, but it'll help you get through the agonizing wait

So are you riding yet? If not, you have my sympathies.

I just bought my first bike, and I have spent the weekend tracking it via the web, because it it coming from WV, and I am in AZ. Even after it gets here, I have to smog it, have it inspected, and then turn in the WV title for an AZ title and plates. At least, I can ride it on a three-day permit in order to get those 'chores' done.

I have already got my permit, helmet, gloves, boots and jacket. Now, if I can find my patience...... :-)
