First Bike HELP

Ok, I have done LOTS of research and have decided to start small, and used for my first bike. I have a couple of choices that I can grab this week. I am looking for econmical, adequate rides.

I can go with a '94 250 Nighthawk for around $1150,

or an '02 Ninja 250 for $1900.

The prices are total, in my driveway with tags.

Both have plenty of miles and are cosmetically nice.

I will be using it 3 or 4 days a week to go to work (about 15 miles total). And for the occasional errand. All in town milage, 30-50 mph. I am 5'11" and 200lbs.

I have sat on both, and they seem comfortable geometry wise. Especially since I do not foresee being on them for more than 30 minutes at a time, at the most.

My worry is, have I missed anything??
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I want a Ninja!

You and are in similar situations. The price for the Ninja sounds like it might be good, but I'd suggest checking Kelly BB first. www.kbb.com. Look for motorcycles. It gives suggested mileage for a bike and suggested trade-in and retail price. If you've already checked, then disregard this.

Since I'm new to this, too, that's about all the advice I can give. Let us know what you decide to go with. I'm excited for you!

As a Nighthawk fan I am completely and totally biased. That being said, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Nighthawk. And if it's a horse a piece to you save the $750 and get the Nighthawk.

I would get the Ninja, if only for resale value. And I would offer 1600 for it.

I recomend the Nighthawk. Hondas are great, low maintence bikes. As for the Ninja, I wouldn't pay more than 1,500-1,600. You could get one new for 2,500 or so.
