I'm working on a friends 1970 trimuph street chopper and am encountering a problem I've never come across before...... The bike has had a "magic box" and has had a harley coil installed . It has ngk b8es plugs , over a short period it has suffered 3 plug failures at this time I can get it to run on 1 cyld. but the other side will fire and run only if the plug wire is pulled slightly away from the plug. the coil was used when installed the wires are new 8.8 mm.the points are gap set according to manual specs. and I am assuming the condensers are built into the coil. any ideas anyone? I am vexed! and frustrated.

You will need to add a condenser for each set of points your using. Go get a set of Champion N-3 (go to N-4s if you get a lot of ping) and toss those NGKs.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
