Open-Exhaust on a Ninja

I'm thinking of purchasing my first motorcycle, and more than likely it's going to be a Ninja250 so no one dies.

I was wondering if it's possible to run open exhaust on the ninja. for a couple of reasons, one being, a slight increase in horsepower, and a raw sound.

I saw a video on it on Youtube, but that's just youtube, I would like more information on it if possible.

lol Put a muffler on it. That'll make the note sound much better than running open. Also, you'll need a little back pressure and the 'funneling' of the exhaust gases that a muffler will provide. Your bike may run like crap if it doesn't.

you could probably ride without a can...up until the police spot you.

what the "fudge" is a muffler? Get a Jardine if you want LOUD. Or D&D. If you want peak performance, odds are the Muzzy will net you the best power gaines.

If you go with a slip on or a full exhaust, make sure you rejet and do carb work. Those carbs are leaned out to begin with.

Yeah, don't just run headers, it'll make the bike run like crap no matter how you jet it or anything. If you want a nice low sound without the high end blat that most find annoying, go with Akrapovic. IMO that is the best sounding muffler for just about any bike. Nice low rumble with enough power gains to justify it.

A Ninja 250 with a Jardine or an Akropovic.

How about rearsets and a Power Commander too?
