Hey all-
Just getting back in the game and looking to buy a new (ish) Honda. I have been looking at the Shadow Spririt VT750C2, but I am curious if this is too far a cry from my old '78 CX500-responsiveness and handling (God knows I welcome the lighter weight). Any recommendations??

Yeah-old Nighthawks. Good choice. Was shooting for a 2000 plus but I think I'll look into them. Thanks.

If anything it'll be an improvement over the cx500. Better strong motor, much improved suspension and design geometry, superior braking etc.

The Nighthawk 700 is a technically better ride than the newer Nighthawk 750's, but you can get a good deal on a 2003 NH750 that is only 5 years old. The newest NH700 is 86, 22 years old. Old bikes are nice, but parts can be difficult, and wiring and electronics are old enough to be unreliable.
But if I found a good condition NH700, I would still consider it.
MY 91 NH750, is very reliable in general, fairly light, and a decent ride.
You can't go wrong on any of the 700/750 Nighthawks.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the advice. I actually picked a '86 Shadow VT700 C. Super clean with only 12K on it. And I am loviing it!! Thanks.
