Not nearly as freaky as I thought it might be. Though it was at noon on a Sunday. Which was part of the point. I wanted to get a feel for the speed etc without have to worry too much about traffic.

If I make a habit of going more than 10-20 miles on a the interstate I'm definitely going to buy a windshield. The difference between 50mph on roads around town and 65-70mph is huge in terms of the wind punching me in the chest. I kept having to tell myself to relax a bit so I wouldn't death grip the handles.

just thought id post to say i know how you feel, im just starting out as well and was overwhelmed by the wind on my first highway trip.ive gone out 2-3 more times and am feeling much more comfortable at the higher speeds.i think a windscreen is also in my near future. ENJOY!!

Not having a windscreen at all you get used to it after a while.

At first I was like "No way I can do 65 Mph like this, it's crazy!"

Now I do 75 even 85 once *bad bike! stop encouraging me!*

My bike cam with a windscreen and I love it. Although I have never riden without a shield, I can tell you that my ride is extremely confortable and some of it may have to do with the windshield.

I was dismayed by the buffeting the first few times I was out in the wind. Then there was the time I caught a stiff cross wind on a bridge. Now, I look forward to the blast of air--but I don't go for hours at a time on the highway, and that may change my opinion. I will get a windshield eventually, more to protect me from debris that may kick up from traffic, and from the cold temperatures when they come around.

Never really like windscreens on bikes, feel that act too much like either a air brake or a sail in crosswinds. First thing I did when I got my bike, was get rid of the the windscreen.

I usually travel around 120 to 140 KPH (bad boy, speed limit is only 100 KPH) on my daily commute and really don't notice the buffeting at all.

I find that the wind doesn't bother me as much any more - with the windscreen. I don't know if I'd be as comfortable as I am now on the highway without the windscreen, but I can say that over long distances I'm sure I'd be more exhausted without the windscreen.

The stock windscreen on sportbikes do quite a bit. Huge difference compared to a real naked bike.

I hate ridding without a windshield. Course I don't wear a full face either.

yeah windshields definitely help on the freeway

I wouldn't be able to ride without one
