Hello from the San Fernando Valley/ Los Angeles!

#1 Unread post by OkieDoQui »

I've been lurking for a while until i realized that I had already registered, I'm a full time uni student looking to get into motorcycles. Currently trying to get down to an ideal weight so I'll be able to find a "comfortable" sportbike experience(6'2" 265 right now). I'm taking the MSF in august a few minutes from my house, and hope to purchase a bike by mid september to december at the latest.

I'd like to give a thank you to all the posters in here from all the information i've gathered already, some really good stuff on these forums :D

SFV = san francisco valley? super fine vallejo?

What bikes have you sat on so far? Most bikes are going to support your weight just fine, but your inseam might be a challenge if your height is in your legs. My son is also 6'2" and has a 34" inseam...he looks funny on most bikes. He's sat on my SV and looks a little cramped; not enough to be a riding deterrent but it probably wouldn't be fun after a couple of hours.

He took the MSF on a little GZ250 and loved it, though. It was like watching an adult try to ride a Big Wheel, but he had fun anyway.

If you're waiting until winter to buy, you might get a better deal than buying now. Unless you really are in San Fran, then maybe not so much...
