Hi, i've gotten to the point were, frankly, I'm bored with my M50's performance. I'd like a sportbike. Now, there's a good deal on a nearby dealer on ZZR600's ( 1k off MSRP on '08's), but my brain says to buy a used race replica 600 (which I'll probably upgrade in a few years anyway). What do you all think???

ZZR is basically a 10 year old technology when it comes to sport bikes. When you says a used RR, what are you considering? CBR600RR? R6? GSXR600? ZX6R? What year?

'04 or '05 GXR600 or Ninja ZX6R. I guess my second question is should I stick to the race replica's (GXR, Ninja, CBR RR, R6) or should I consider the value supersports (YZF600R, CBRF4i, ZZR). Keep in mind I rode sportbikes throughout high school, stopped for 15 years and started back up 3 years ago on the M50, so what I mean to say is, I don't need THE latest and greatest as I don't plan on going into low earth orbit on the highway, however track days are in my future.....

You can't go wrong with any of the RRs from the big 4. I am of course partial to the CBR600RR but they are all good.

As for the SS, I think the CBR600F4is are the best.

If you are going to do some touring, I would go with a SS bike rather than a RR bike.

Well also keep in mind you're older now so the riding position is gonna be a bit harder on you than it was back in high school. As for the bikes, they're more leaned over than ever now, usually your palms are about equal with your butt.
Personally out of all of those I'd go with the F4i... It was Honda's supersport until 03, when the CBR600RR came out.

I might get a YZF 600..they're really abundant compared to the other middle weight bikes. You can get a used one in good condition for less than 4k.

Well, I'm down to two choices, both '05's. A Honda CBR600RR or a Kawi ZX6R. Both black.

Kawi ($6,100) = 14K miles

Honda ($6,800) = 2K miles

Opinions???

I'm getting 4K trade in for the M50.

They're both good bikes. 2,000 miles on the '05 Honda??? That's hardly broken in. If it's been stored for a while, make sure you find out if they prepped it properly before storage. I have an '06 ZX-6R and love it - they handle great!! The only issue I have heard about the 05 ZX-6R's are tranny related. Chances are if it's got 14K on it; it's either O.K. or has already had the tranny re-done (2nd gear issue with some '05s). Get the one you like - or feels best.

Good luck & ride safe 8)

All other things equal, I'd get the Honda... Less miles, more room to break it into your specs... But yeah, both are good bikes, can't go wrong with either one...

Agreed.

I'm biased but I prefer the Honda. I love the looks of the '03-'06 600RR. The '05-'06 are even better because of the upsidedown forks. My '04 is one of the funnest bikes I have ever had. It's not nervous at all for a midsize Racer Replica. It's amazingly stable and the fit and finish is awesome. It's plenty fast and the handling is amazing.

What color are the ZX & the CBR?
