What's wrong with the birds this year?

Has anybody else noticed the suicidal tendencies of the feathered lizards this year? I just got home from a blast into town for some milk and ice cream. On my way into town, a crow decided he couldn't take it anymore and that the best way for him to end it all was to push his head out of his bunghole against my helmet. He (she?) came out of a tree at the side of the road, straight across the ditch and pulled a hard, rolling turn straight into my head. I seen him come off the tree and was keeping an eye on him, but his little air show fooled me and all I could do was duck my head a bit. He glanced off my lid and smacked my shoulder. So I walked around the grocery store with my left shoulder covered in blood and birdy bits. Moves the line at the express check out nicely, though.

So far this year, between the cage and the bike, I have now hit 3 crows, 2 magpies, and a mallard duck (well, that Daffy bastid flew straight into the side of my new car, the day after I bought it.... he has a special place in my Hall 'o Hate. ) and I lost count of how many sparrows and finches. That's how many I have sent to the other side, triple that at least for the number of flying vermin I have avoided without dumping the bike or throwing the cage into the ditch. If I figure avoidance is more risky than avian impact, Tweety is toast. I ain't swerving around the hiway like a drunken, epileptic tweaker with other traffic around.

To add insult to injury, this year there is a pair of red-tail hawks nesting in the trees outside my house. You know that high pitched 'Ssscccrreeeeeee....' they are always squawking? Imagine that outside your bedroom window at 5 am every morning...... and it's against the law to shoot them.

So now I am washing my Alpinestar Drystar jacket in the washing machine and hoping I don't wreck it in the process.

Dam birds......

Do more burnouts, the smoke will scare them away.

I dont't think he needs burnouts for a cloud of smoke to follow him around.

No, the burn-outs might work. It's the best smoke generator on the bike. The windblast just blows the cherry off the other way.....

Yeah, usually back into your eye. And that hurts.

Daffy was gritty pate by the time I was done stomping his little green head into the weeds at the side of the road.....

So I am picking out the bigger feathers and saving him for the appetizer at the next TMW staff dinner.

Ew. I've only had insects. What color is your helmet? They may fly into certain colors like white over others. I know airplanes have problems with birds getting stuck in them.

O.K., O.K..... I admit it, that's me. I'm good, dam good, very dam good, amazing even.... but I can't do that at 120 on an FJ.....
