1987 honda spirit 1100

hi there i am new to this site 
nad i hope some one out there can help me with my problems? (spellin) my 1100 shadow went dead ,electrical.
no spark, checked all connections good coils checked out i am down to the pulse generator, does anybody know how to check them. i need to know the ohms and volt readings and what wires, any help would be greatly appreciated.
