hey everyone. i'm doing a school psychology project on, "Why do people choose to ride street bikes(crotch rockets) even though they know all the dangers involved?" i have to interview a few people for this topic and i was wondering if anyone would have the time to answer approximately 20 questions? if you interested send em a message, comment back or email me at planeboy130@yahoo.com and then i will give you the questions. Your identity will be kept anonymous if you would like. PLEASE HELP ME, I AM A FUTURE RIDER!!!

thanks everyone, be safe

I think your getting the wrong idea, crotch rockets are no more dangerous to ride than any other motorcycle, hell they could be considered safer since they can dodge stuff easier and brake a shorter distance. I choose to ride because A) its cheaper to run a motorcycle and my old muscle car than it is to run 2 cars (my 442 gets 13mpg and the CB750 gets like 40-50mpg) and B) its fun and helps take stress away.

I agree with psyco. Crotch rockets are no more dangerous than cruisers. I think the reason people assume (key word being "assume") they are more dangerous is because they see a person on a crotch rocket and automatically visualize in their heads "18-20 year old, as soon as he has some open road he's gonna tear @ss up the freeway at 160." While I'm sure there is some truth to that, it's not how the vast majority of riders ride. Crotch rocket riders while most of them may be a younger crowd, there is still a ton of people of all ages, and both sexes, that ride them, and ride quite safely too. It's not that riding crotch rockets is dangerous, riding motorcycles in general is inherently dangerous, no matter what style bike you ride. As far as why people ride, the reasons are as plentiful as the people that ride. Some like the image, some like to be able to go 0-1000 in 2 seconds flat, and others like me, just enjoy being on the open road without a cage around us, and sharing in the cameraderie of riding bikes. And I ride a cruiser by the way, not a crotch rocket. Perhaps you should change your topic just a bit to be inclusive of all bike styles, because I'm sure anyone on this forum will tell you, whether your on a HD or a Ninja, if a tractor trailer crosses the divide and you smack into it going 50 mph per hour, you're hamburger. If I can be of any help, let me know.
