Hi everybody! I'm a returning rider (and a Simpson's fan) with limited experience. I did a little dirt bike riding as a teenager, later learned how to street ride on my brother's Ninja 500, but that was 14 or 15 years ago. Now I feel like a newbie again (though still lovin every second on a bike). So, I'm getting back into riding slowly but surely. Took the MSF course in 2006, bought a Suzuki Burgman 400, and I've been smilin ever since. So far I've ridden the 400 to the Smokey Mtns. and can't wait for more road trips. I grew up in Washington state so imao northern Illinois is too flat. Just found TMW and I already love the friendly atmosphere and all the tips and advice you guys and girls give. Any advice on good road trips near Chicago would be much appreciated. I'm looking forward to asking questions and getting to know you. With so much insightful info, I'll be learning a lot. Which I'll need to do, since next year I'm hoping to buy another, bigger bike. (with a clutch-

) The thrill is back!
Happy Trails, Heather

You could ride down to Starved Rock--that'd probably be a pretty nice ride, though I haven't done it yet.
Where are you in Chicago?

hey Chicagogang
there are some older bike enthusiasts in Chicago looking to get together in the next few weekends.
I may be coming down from the burbs to join them, as i have a soft spot for old triumphs and royal enfields, BSAs and Nortons.
i dont have an exact date, but if you guys want to look and do a little medium speed riding, let me know and send me an email.
im also organizing some of my V Star folks to do some riding up and down Lake Shore drive closer to the end of July (31st - Aug 3rd sometime).
Maybe get some food and just put some miles on...
keep me posted!

hey Gang
just wanted to let you know of some City sponsored "Cruise Nights", where cars and bikes gather in downtown cities.
I know there is one on Wednesday nights in Lemont, and I think Downers Grove is on Friday Nights.
Plainfield is supposed to have one this Saturday evening as well..
just keeping you guys in the loop~
