2007 Wide glide GVWR.

Preparing for a trip and am wondering about my total weight.
Owner's manual states the GVWR but looking for reality here. What if I end up 100 lbs or less OVER the GVWR. Grave situation? Should be OK? Who Cares? Is GVWR an absolute or a guide? Leave wife at home?
