new problem

Ok, I had my 96' Virago 535 finally running and it seemed to be running solid. I went to start it up last night and it wouldn't start. I tried to start it a few times and I could smell gas and it makes a sound like it wants to start but it just won't. Any ideas?

Is the sound it makes a click-click kind of noise, or a whirling with some pops?

I get the clicking noise. At first I thought the battery may not have a full charge so I charged it but it still clicks. I also get a sound coming from the exhaust that sounds like pup pup pup.
