Can a 600 Shadow fit in my van?

Does anyone have a Shadow 600 that can measure the height of the handlebars without mirrors? I have 42" clearance into the back of my Odyssey. I plan to lower the handlebars so please measure that as well. Any help would be appreciated and might save me a headache. I am traveling a long way to pick up a 2003 model.

On the sidestand of an '06, I measured 47" from the floor to toe top of the master cylinder (highest point on the bars.) Upright I measured 44"...you'll need to get a little more than 2" of lowering the bars to get it into the back of your van (sorry, I wasn't going to lower the bars to check...but I'm guessing you didn't really expect anyone to...)

Mike S: I got your PM about this. I don't have a tape measure handy, but I'd say you're going to be over your 42 inch limit.

Thanks Thumper and Pepperjack.

So, if I losen the 4 bolts (I think it takes an allen wrench) then I should be able to swing the handlebars down to total height of less than 42", right?

I also figure I could flatten the tires and compress the front fork a bit.

Have you considered the length of the bike too?

You are completely to screw up the inside of the van doing that. Wher are you going to tie the straps? Is it wide enough for the straps to be effective in preventing it from moving laterally, forward, backwards?

Did you consider renting a flat bed trailer instead?

The length of the bike is 92 inches and I have 98" in the van. The handlebar width is 36 inches and I have 38" at the narrowest point. The narrowest part is just the entrance, once inside the dimensions open taller and wider.

The van has multiple tie downs on the sides and on the floor from where the seats go.

I know of one person that transported a rebel this way no problem, so my biggest concern right now is the height or clearance into the van.

One of the guys showed up at a Yamaha XS 1100 rally with the bike in the back of a mini van. Some parts bars I think had to be taken off but it fit.
