2007 Honda VT 750 Shadow tachometer

Hi, any fellow Ozzies, I need help fitting tacho to VT shadow.I been given a lot of contrary advice re fitting, eg. is your bike single or dual fire?, you may need to fit tach adapter tach and so forth.Now I am paranoid about fitting it to bike! can anyone help with correct technical info??
