Effectiveness of Frame Sliders

considering getting frame sliders for my bike; but it seems to put them on would require cutting of the faring to install them; How effective are they in what their purpose is; and would it be worth it?

What kind of bike do you have that you have to cut the fairing?
It should just replace the engine frame bolt and slide all the way through.

And I think they are a great idea. A $50-$100 investment that could save you over $500 if your bike goes down easily.

i have a 2004 honda cbr600f4i; i read somewhere that cutting of the fairing is required for the frame sliders, just wanted to see how much that would run in general to have them installed if the cutting were required

I've got the 2005, and what you've heard is true, I haven't seen a non-cut frame slider for the F4i yet. So long as you do it right, it will look fine, though.

Are frame sliders as effective (or effective at all) on a cruiser? Or are they only designed to work properly with sport bikes that have fairings? Just wondering...
