So I want to know...

I'm curious about how other females get into driving and about what age you started?
I have the impression that a lot of females who ride are older (than me...don't take offense).
I'm 25, just getting into it, and I love it. I used to ride pillion with friends when I was in college, but now my husband wants to save gas (which is fine because I'm ready to dance up and down at being able to drive one...and I don't dance well at all).

I got into driving at a fairly regular age most folks start driving. Started then my dad taught me to drive when I was 15 and got my license when I was 16. Before that I got on the tractors and such at the farm.
...ohhhh, you mean riding....
Again, in my preteens I guess. Had 4wheelers and a dirt bike here and there on the farm. I started to ride the street just a year or two ago.

I said driving because I am interested in learning the above about women who pilot their own bikes. Riding can also mean women who ride as passengers. (unless there is a way that I don't know about yet to distinguish).

Umhm, piloting your own bike = riding. Riding passenger = pillion.
I'm just giving you a hard time

Cool!
I learnt first at 18. Stopped for a while and then got back into it and have ridden almost every day for the last 10 years at least.

I started learning 2 months ago at 36. I figured I've finally quit doing really horribly stupid, dangerous things (seriously, I'm surprised I survived this long)-so now I'm responsible enough for a motorcycle.
Really, I know it sounds oxymoron-ish..but I quit with the car-surfing, pier and bridge diving, playing with alligators, and all kinds of stuff no one should ever do when I started college again when I was 29. Once I graduated, I realized I had grown up a bit and started looking around for training for riding. That's when my dad got "ok" with the thought of me on a bike and gave me his blessing.

Learned in my late teens (illegally) on a "friend's" bike. About 15 years ago (at age 32) figured it was time to get to an MSF class and get my license. Now 30 years initially after "learning", I've started riding again on a more consistent basis (almost daily due to gas prices) - but this time more knowledgeable, safe AND, more importantly, on my own bike

.
However, I do ride pillion on occasion with hubby - but, since, I'm a woman, it's my perogative
