Greetings All!
First - thanks to so many of you for the information I've gathered over the last few months while lurking, researching, reading, pondering and deciding to become a new rider. I'm very excited to get started.
Soon to take my MSF course, followed by the purchase of a new Vulcan 500 LTD, I want to protect my investment, and my body, as best I can. Personal gear already considered, I really want to get engine guards or "highway bars" or even a plasma force field - something to keep the engine protected if (or when) I drop the bike, not to mention keeping the 450 + lbs off my legs.
I can't find them for this bike. Any help?? (except the force field of course)
Thanks much!!

In a 5 minute search on Google I found
this page that has highway bars for a Vulcan 500. I'm sure I could find more if I tried.

Are you sure that wasn't for the Vulcan
1500? I tried looking for a while, and didn't find anything -- except posts in forums from people who couldn't find engine guards for the Vulcan 500!

Yea I'm sure I saw a set of highway bars near the bottom of the page for Kawasaki engine guards/highway bars.
OK I went back and it's in the middle of the page, they only fit 96 and earlier, and they're called Wingline Highwaybars.
I want my 10 minutes back.
I went to the Kawasaki site and they have engine guards for the 09 Vulcan 500 LTD for $94.00.
We're up to about 13 minutes now.

Kawasaki sells an engine guard fot the Vulcan 500 but it doesn't look too wide, might be a good place to hang some highway pegs though.

That's more like it -
thank you.

It looks as though we're in agreement about the lack of after market parts like this for the EN500. Frankly I don't get it. There are lots of those bikes out there, they keep selling new ones... if this is some marketing ploy to get me to upgrade to something else that does have lots of am parts they're effing nuts. I'm not falling for it - this is the bike I want.... period.
I've used Google too, a lot. It's my bloody home page. I've seen the unit Kawi sells and it can be had for as little as $75, but it's a seriously anemic looking thing intended to protect the radiator not the engine or my legs. Simply not good enough or much better than nothing at all. I'd even bet adding pegs to it would weaken it, not to mention the money it would cost for both would end up equalling the cost of good ones that were custom, larger and stronger.
I'm done dicking around with this item. I've got all my other safety and comfort mods planned so they'll have to do until I save up for some custom fabricated ones. Hmph - now I have to find a pipe guy.
Thanks again you guys.
