Who wants to come to Africa

I have been watching these holiday swap programs where people swap houses in different countries for a week or two to save on accomadation costs

My idea goes a little beyond that, all you would pay for is air tickets and then the host family looks after you for a couple of weeks. This then is repeated on the other side.

I would be happy to host someone in South Africa and show you the best of the country and get some riding in.

Wadda ya think??

Sounds lovely - for 2009. :D Unfortunately, our vacation budget for this year is already earmarked for our upcoming trip to Nova Scotia.

That's predicated on the assumption that the other person lives in an equally interesting place as well :)

I love your idea though. If only my wife liked motorcycles and /or was a bit more adventurous. I don't think I could pull off a stag trip to Africa.

Very tempting. However...like most folks...no money to spend right now.

Are there bike rentals available? (I'm guessing that is what you had in mind...riding?)

Sounds like a great idea. However, I am already planning on visiting the Home Country next year and saving my pennies to bring my bike with me. For a two to three week visit, it is actually cheaper then renting one over there.

Dude, if I didn't live in a shitty/small appartment and had the funds to take time off from work, and the space to put people up, I'd be all over the offer. Though, if you do make it over to the States, I can show you and host some of the nicer roads this area has to offer.

Remember, though, if you go to South Africa, you have to learn to ride on the "wrong" side of the road!

It'll be like riding in the fast lane all the time!
