hey guys, i just got in contact with a private seller - wants to sell an '06 suzuki gs500f w/ 455 miles for $4000. i already went to a mechanic and paid them $85 b/c i thought i was going to get it; they checked it out and said it was legit. however, all my friends tell me i can get a better deal if i wait until winter time or a couple more months. is this a good offer i should just take advantage of? or should i wait a little bit and see if the price drops?
thanks.

That's a good deal! Tell your friends that unless they're gonna find you something for less to leave ya be on this one. If it's legit and in good shape, you're golden. Let us know!

Do you want to ride NOW? Or wait until next spring? If its in your budget, buy it. Your friends already have bikes, right?

I fully agree!

Life is short. You cannot put a price tag on a full summer of riding pleasure.
Although in this poster's case, they are in sunny SoCal....
But still... a couple of month is still a couple month of your life you will never get back.
Your friends are unusual too in that usually friends encourage the spending of other's money....

:::chants:::buy it buy it buy it buy it:::/chants:::
CA has year-round riding, so used bike prices don't come down enough to justify waiting until winter to get one, especially if the one you want is available right now.
Or maybe I'm just cranky for not having had anything to ride for a while, and I want someone to get some new wheels!
Naw...good deal on a good bike, I'd go for it, personally...

I say go for it too. You could probably get a better deal but not by much. One of my two bikes is a GS500E and I love it.
