I went on a day run with a friend yesterday. It was the first time I have ridden b***h since I got mine. It was a totally different ride.

First off I am now a back seat driver, and have never been before. I am wondering if he is seeing what I am seeing. I look like the driver now. LOL!

I seen my first close up downed bike. *gasp* The bike had hit a deer. The riders were ok, the deer dead. It was in a very slow speed area, but there were still skid market, so ...... I confirmed my decision for a armored jacket and full face helmet at all time.

After I got back, I am traveling down the interstate about 65 miles per hour, a sportsbike blows past and the driver is barefoot!! I really couldn't believe it. It actually kind of made me mad. WTF!!

I was on Route 22 in Pennsylvania Sunday. It's a 2/3 lane road--it's mostly 2 but at some point there is a second passing lane for about half a mile on alternative sides. It was a beautiful day and the road goes to Raystown Lake, a major recreational area, so there was a lot of traffic. I looked at the traffic coming the opposite way from me and when it hit one of those passing lanes, a moron on a sports bike popped out of the crowd and stood the bike completely up--front wheel 8 feet in the air. I don't know how long he kept it like that but it was still up when he passed me. An organ donor in waiting.

I heard this week from a couple of bike club members that they're looking to pass a law here in Florida that if they catch these crotch rockets lifting their bikes more than 3 feet off the ground, they'll take the bike away and give you a ticket.

IMHO it sounds like a good idea. It's just gotten "really" bad here. Last week a group of rider traveling down US 27 at over 120mph at 2am must have found themselves face to face with a guard-rail. Nobody knew they had crashed until another group of bikers found several bodies lying in the middle of the road. Don't know how many died, but there were no survivors.

Sadly there never seems to be a shortage of "Darwin Award" nominees.

a kid up here got his bike taken away a couple weeks back for doing a wheelie down the main drag here...infront of cops.... got nailed under the stunt driving.street racing law I guess.... a few days with no bike and a big fine from what I hear.

It is possible that some states, may (in the future) require that all two wheeled vehicles maintain contact with both wheels on the roadway while driving under most normal conditions.

However, to infer that all operators of all motorcycles are "out of control" with their vehicles while lifiting the front (or rear wheel) off of the roadway at any time.....will never be widely accepted and rise to to level of citations.

A guy here in Alberta just received a $12,000.00 speeding ticket. He was doing 263 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. (163 mph). He was allowed to keep his license if he paid the ticket. I'm not sure that I agree with that but he probably won't be able to afford his insurance!

Are you sure it's not $1200 ?

BTW I had a horrible experience last evening. I was cruising slowly (40-ish Km/h) through the treed residential street, while something came flying towards my leg and I caught it just as it entered the light beam. I was surprised for a moment, but then I became horrified - it was a BROWN LEAF falling of off the tree. It's coming soon, just a few weeks more and it's over.
