No longer the passenger

#1 Unread post by archer »

I've liked motorcycles for a long time. When I was a child, approx age 10, my three older brothers all had motorcycles at the same time. I had lots of fun rides and always thought it would be great to ride one myself. Now that I am in midlife, I am starting to realize that I need to start fulfilling my dreams and have some fun. :D

My husband (iav8) is always encouraging me to get some hobbies, and he has several, but this is about me, not him. It is something I can do individually, with other women riders, with other men  , or as a couple...

Our daughter is quite excited about it too, but I have told her that it will be a long time before she can ride with me. Maybe she will be a future rider as well.

We are planning to take a weekend riding course in July. Until then I will be doing lots of reading in these great forums that you have made available to encourage new riders.

archer, I believe you will love it. :) Like yourself, I started at midlife and it has been the best thing I could have ever done for myself.

When we get to 80 we won't be saying "I wish I had........".

Welcome aboard! I'm not sure what is considered middle-age anymore, but I know I'm close enough to qualify. And it's a great time to start riding. Enjoy yourself!

Cheers,
Loonette

Hi Archer,

Welcome to Forums, I'm another late starter, this is my second year, and I'm loving it. Just got my husband to take a course this spring, and he just bought a Honda Aero.

Your going to have a great time!!!!
