Which bike to get???

Hi

I'm completly new to motorcyles ( have ridden 50cc mopeds for years) and am not sure what to get. The main problem is I dont want to spend over $1700.

I dont want a sportbike or crotch rocket. i found a '81 Yamaha XS 650 that I like but I did some reading up on it and found its "wobbles" at 80 and vibrates like riding a freight train. Not sure about all that.

Any suggestions are welcome but please try and give some reasons why you suggest the one you do. THANKS

well i don't know a lot about bikes but if your looking for something cheap that's easy and fun to ride. i'd have to reccomend one of the older honda cb series. they came in lots of sizes 200 to 900 and everything in between. i own a 750 which is a little heavy but if your a bigger guy i think it would treat you fine. if your smaller maybe a cb360 or up to 550. anyways this is just my 2 cents. good luck and have fun
