Anything good to do in AU?
We're headed out for Sydney tomorrow for a much needed vacation. What are the things we just have to do while we're out there??

Opera House
Bus tour around city (on and off type)
Bondi Beach for surfing
Visit the old town where the orginal criminals arrived from England. It's called The Rocks. Read a bit about it here....and other stuff about Sidney. There is also a very good museum there.

poet, a day trip to wine country is always nice!
We're anticipating doing the Harbor Bridge, Opera house, Hunter Valley/Blue Mountains trip...maybe a zoo, Manly beach if the weather is up to it. We read something about a haunted tour of the city...well, the tour isn't haunted, rather each destination
We're staying right downtown at the Stamford so should be easy access to the surrounding shops and eateries.

It's a good thing you've got those giant brass ones, otherwise you might not fit in at that beach.Shorts wrote:poet, a day trip to wine country is always nice!

lol @ mgdavis. Yeah, when DH mentioned it, I couldn't figure out what 'manly' meant. Is it a guys only beach? Is it a hot spot for guys because of the 'scenery'? What's manly about it??? lol
hyperr, we're still in JP. We have an hour flight and 40min bus ride from our place here to Tokyo-Narita. Then a 9hr flight from Narita to Sydney. Its a scheduled overnight flight and we land early in the morning. The time difference isn't but an hour and we're hoping we can get good rest on the flight that the trip is seamless. We were glad to hear that it's only 9hrs...its a shorter flight than back to the States. You're right, the US is much further and its one of the reasons we were itching to get to AU while stationed out here. We knew once back in the States we'd be saying to ourselves "why didn't we go to ____ when we had the chance?"
