What the diff between Shadow Ace, Areo and Spirit?

#1 Unread post by Angelwings »

Hi all,
I am looking for a second, first bike (I rode back in 1994 and had a Honda Shadow 500) and I looking at the 750 Ace, Aero and Spirit but I would like to know what is the major difference between them?

Thanks.

The difference is mostly styling. The seating/foot positions are a bit different between the models, so you should sit on all of them to see what fits you best.

I think all of the ACE models are chain drive (last year was '03), but the current model Spirit comes with shaft. Looks like the last chain drive Spirit was the '07 DC model.

Aero is more of a Retro Style, Wider front tire than the Spirit, Different Seat, Fenders etc.
Spirit is more of a Contemporary style. Ace is really Similar to the Aero in style.

My '04 Aero is a fat, long, low, retro-styled and grunty little machine that steers like a pig and rides like a really fast easy chair and I love the everliving hell out of it. Skip it of you're over 5'8" tall. You'll be cramped and uncomfortable. I don't know if that's changed since they came out, though. It is, in my opinion, one of the best bikes out there for petite women.
Ooooooh. Shiny!
