Ok as I mentioned in http://totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/viewtopic.php?t=30472
I plan on getting rid of my bike to buy a new one. With that said I am kinda confused on what to look for. Can my problem still be something with my charging system? What happened was it was 40F this morning when I got out of work. Bike wanted to start but would not start no matter where I set the choke. It did start for 1/2 second but then it backfired and wouldnt start after that. So I called my wife and she came picked me up (after I tried jumping the bike). Then I had to be back to work at 6:30pm so I left a little early and got here at 6 to try and do some figuring out in the daylight lol. Well anywho just for giggles I put the key in and the dang bike started right up without a hitch. Right now I have the battery in the maintenance shop charging on the trickle charger just so I can get it to full charge. my question is what should I look at that might be causing it to not start in "colder" weather? Other than loose/broken wiring.
Right now I am going to go take the K&N filter off and check it. I know it needs to be recharged but I havent done that yet. The other thing I am wondering is because of the backfire could it be the spark plugs?
