Passengers on 250s?

I'm just curious, is it possible to take passengers on sport bikes? And what about smaller sport bikes, like the Ninja 250?

They don't LOOK too passenger friendly, but this is from my inexperienced eye.

Well, it isn't so much the comfort issue as it is the power. A 250 2up will go, but it will not be fast and it'll work pretty hard.

We rode my VTR250 2up for kicks one day to test it . About 325lbs on hte bike, it got up to speed, but, I wouldn't want to do that with any regularity. Maybe if I had to give someone a lift in an emergency or 'no option" sorta situation. But that's a point A to point B sorta thing. Not for any kind of traveling, touring or casual riding.

Also be mindful of the brakes.

As for pillion seats, it depends on the bike. Sports bikes, even sport standards, especially of the smaller persuasion aren't going to be comfortable for long.

Thanks for the info. :D Although, the only people I'd be taking would really only be going from A to B (likely), but together we'd only weigh about 220lb.

However, all this is in the future! :(

I had an ninja 250 and went 2up for about 15 minutes. The bike handles very badly with 2 people. It probably just takes a higher concentration since any small wiggle can move the 250 pretty sharply.
