Problems with the key jamming in the ignition

The ignition is ok, i can start the bike fine. But the key is jamming. I have to jiggle is a bunch of times, and pull it out and push it back in. The bike only has like 6000 miles on it so it seems strange that something so trivial could go wrong so soon.

It's a Suzuki gz250, if that matters.
I don't leave it out in the elements.
I hope this is something simple.
The key has not yet gotten premanantly stuck in the ignition, but i'm pretty sure it's getting there.

graphite lubricant. You should be able to get some at your local auto parts store (Napa, Pep boys, what have you)

If you're not sure what it is that you are looking for when you go in, just ask the parts guys; they'll know what you will want for your purposes.

Have you taken a close look at the key? Is it bent? If it's bent, you better get a new one made and get rid of the bent one.

Sometimes the keyhole can be a bit stubborn on that bike. I tried using WD-40 on it (insert straw into the keyhole and spray a shot)) and it seemed better. And making sure the key is level would be a good idea.

WD40 makes it work well at first, but over time, it tends to accumulate gunk. Dry Graphite is a better lock lubricate as it doesn't attract or hold dirt.

Is it possible someone jammed a screw driver into it? Some evil-doer tried to steal one of my bikes like that...
