I just got the call from my grandmother that my great grandfather passed away this morning. Luckily he was able to spend his last days at home. He had lung cancer, but it didn't spread that far. He was in his early 90's though, so he wasn't very strong to begin with and has been going downhill for years. There isn't going to be a funeral, no reception. Though in spring there's going to be a service for him in the Cathedral of the Pines. It looks like a nice place from the pictures, it's no wonder that's what he wanted. I look forward to riding out there for the service. He's the one that introduced me to motorcycles in the first place. I was maybe 10 the first time he took me out on his old 80's BMW. I remember burning my leg on the exhaust, I havn't done that since. I can only hope I get to see and do half the stuff he got to do. He'd been riding motorcycles since his teens at the least. I've got some catching up to do.
Spring can't come soon enough.

My condolences Geoff. It's hard to lose a family member, even when it is sort of expected. Lost my Grandfather early this year as well, he to was in his 90's and had lead a pretty good and full life. Still miss him. Anyways, my thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear about that Geoff. Since he sounded like a full blooded biker any idea on using that motorcycle hearst? I'm sure where he's going there's going to be long winding roads for the ultimate ride.
Take care.

Aw, man...I am truly sorry. I'm still stinging from my father in law's passing 2 years ago, and don't wish that pain on anyone.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. There was a service for him today. There wasn't originally going to be one, so it was kind of last second. But still, a lot of people showed up for it. It was nice.
