I just want headlight, tail-light, and rear blinkers. Is it possible to just take all the existing wires off the bike and just run new wires from the battery to toggle switches without the use of a wire-harness? It's kick start only seeing as the starter is bad so not worried about that. Will this kill my battery super fast? I hope this makes sense. I'll try to get a pic up so you can see what a mess the existing wiring is. Thanks guy's and gal's.

Short answer, yes.

1. Fuse the wires. you don't want a fire, or an engine quitting at the wrong time.

2. Use a relay powered from the ignition switch. Switch off, lights off. You'll never leave the toggle on by accident.

3. Buy a fuse block from an auto parts store. The Radio/Amp guys use them all the time. It is a convenient way to put fuses neatly on your bike. Dedicated motorcycle ones are expensive, but include relay switched circuits.
